Why, Yes, as a Matter of Fact, I Do Have Cabin Fever...
Boating on Rough River Lake
I snapped the picture above on one of the Lady of the Lake Boat Tours my husband and I took last summer. If you’ve never been on one of these tours of Rough River Lake, make this the year you take at least one. The minute the tour’s over you want to ask the Captain (quite the character, this guy!) when the next tour leaves.
Whatever you do, keep the following tips in mind:
- Bring your camera. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous and you’ll find 1,001 things to photograph.
- Plan your day to include at least one meal at Rough River Dam State Resort Park’s Grayson’s Landing Restaurant. If you do the buffet, have the Coconut Cream Pie.
- Enjoy a round of golf and/or miniature golf while you’re at Rough River Dam State Resort Park. Again, the scenery is amazing – and everyone is uncommonly friendly.
- Did I mention the Coconut Cream Pie….

It occurs to me that, for whatever reasons, I’m having more cabin fever than usual this winter. From what I’ve heard, I’m not the only one either. I can’t wait for nice weather to get here and stick around. The great outdoors are calling me!
