Barren River Lake State Resort Park is as beautiful a State Park as you’ll ever find. Whether you’re looking for a great golf round with your buddies or a weekend get-away with your family, Barren River Lake State Resort Park will not disappoint. Kentucky is known for its gorgeous, well-cared for, and scenic state resort parks. Truth be told, all Kentuckians take great pride in their state park system! State Parks are an ideal way to show the rest of the country what makes your state so special. That’s why I’m always thrilled to see our state parks looking beautiful and its workers being as friendly and warm as you could hope for.
They represent all of us!
We’ve been to a great number of Kentucky’s State Parks and this one is a memorable one. There’s so much water and so many trees – two ingredients that make a State Park worthwhile. I also loved the food served in the Lodge’s restaurant. When you go, be certain to have the fried potatoes. They are extra-special and taste unlike any potatoes served at Kentucky’s other state parks. In fact, they taste unlike any potatoes I’ve ever had served anywhere outside of home.
You’ll also want to try their coffee. I remember it being outstanding as well.

Barren River Lake State Resort Park is ideal for family fun with plenty of space for kids and adults to play, relax, eat, and unwind. Shopping and restaurants are within driving distance, making it as convenient as it is beautiful.
