Delicious Coconut Cream Pie at Rough River Dam State Resort Park’s Grayson’s Landing Restaurant
The Kentucky State Resort Parks have special plans for Mother’s Day and would love for you and your family to come dine with them.
Plan to spend at least a portion of Sunday, May 10 at the Kentucky State Resort Park of your choice. In addition to the beautiful ambiance, you’ll be able to enjoy a very special Mother’s Day Buffet.
The menu includes salad bar, fruit, cheese, roast beef, roast pork with apple dressing, chicken and dumplings, fried catfish and hush puppies, vegetables and desserts.
The buffet will be served noon to 8 p.m. at most resort parks. The adult price is $18.99 plus tax; $8.99 plus tax for children ages 6-12 (drink included). (Kenlake State Resort Park serving time will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. CDT; Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park will be offering a slightly different menu.)
If the state resort park you choose to visit is Rough River Dam State Resort Park, cross your fingers and hope with all your might that they have their coconut cream pie on the buffet! It’s been a while since I’ve eaten at a resort park’s restaurant (since I had to start eating gluten free, I don’t go a lot of places I once could), but I clearly remember this pie being ridiculously light and delicious.
It just sort of melted in your mouth and the crust was out of this world.
Each of the resort parks have wonderful gift shops you’ll want to visit, too. Make mom’s day extra special by allowing her to pick out something that’ll light up her world. Unique Kentucky handcrafted items, Kentucky food, and jewelry are some of my personal gift shop favorites.
Kentucky State Park gift cards are also available at parks and make excellent gifts.
