Pictures of Small Towns Throughout Our State
The Kentucky towns represented in the graphic above are Grand Rivers, Morgantown, Columbia, and Greenville
Earlington Kentucky was my husband Michael’s childhood home, so I’ve heard some amazing stories about this lively little town! There was actually a little mini-feud in Earlington at one time – their version of the Hatfields and McCoys. The Earlington constituents were much less violent, however.
I’d love for Michael to write some of his memories about Earlington (the stores, schools, stories) on Genuine Kentucky. Maybe I’ll bribe him with a Chess or Sweet Potato Pie.
Unfortunately, the only pictures I have (so far!) of Earlington are from Loch Mary. They’re the first 5 pictures in the gallery. I’ll add more soon…. I promise! There is more to this cool little town than just one gorgeous lake.
Morgantown pretty much symbolizes “Small Town” Kentucky. With it’s court house located in the center of town (a trademark of the small towns), beautiful old historic buildings, neatly manicured lawns, and.. last but not least, it’s adorable little Chamber of Commerce Building. We are SO in love with that little log cabin style building!
One of the most beautiful things about Kentucky’s small towns in the stories they have to tell. Personally, I want to know more about the bank – like when it opened for business, when it closed… if it was ever robbed! Sorry, that’s how my mind works. If you have any stories to share about Morgantown (or any of the small towns in Kentucky), please do so in the comments below or e-mail us (email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org).
Many more to come! Be sure to check back often.
