I’m not going to lie. I love to shop. I love shopping almost as much as I love coffee – and if you’ve ever been close enough to smell me, you’ll understand how huge that is. Do the words perpetual coffee breath mean anything to you?
Anyway, shopping is one of my life sources. I’ve never been to an auction – much to my husband’s delight – but how crazy fun it’d be! People competing with you for something you want to buy? Whooo!
In all honesty, I hear tell that you can snag some huge, huge, huge bargains at auctions.Ã? If you’re in the area of Lake Cumberland State Resort Park on June 29, 2012 or Lake Barkley State Resort Park on July 13, you can get in on the crazy fun, yourself. You can bid on items like tractors, golf carts, sofas, dining room sets, paddle boats, mowers, bedroom suites, lamps, commercial kitchen equipment, dishes and more.
Paddle boats catches my eye – but “dishes” makes me dance in my seat. I collect dishes and KNOW that the dishes at Kentucky State Parks are gorgeous.
No doubt a lot of people will be interested in the golf carts, kitchen equipment, tractors, and mowers. It’s a perfect time to find a perfect deal.
More about the surplus auctions:

Words from the Wise (yes, I did just refer to myself as the wise… after three cups of coffee, I’m invincible):
- When in the Lake Cumberland area, you’ll want to eat at Dickie’s Barbecue Pit in Columbia, Kentucky. Click the link for more information.Ã? Trust me, the food will blow your mind.
- When you’re at the Lake Barkley auction, go no further than Lake Barkley’s beautiful Windows on the Water restaurant. It’s downstairs in the gorgeous lodge and the food is outstanding.Ã? Order the catfish and mentally thank me with every bite.
