“No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow.” – Proverb
Yesterday was the sort of day we nature lovers have been waiting for. A day so beautiful it’s all but impossible to stay indoors. Naturally, this tree-hugger had to grab her camera and take off for the yard.
I left our inside cat (Alexa) sleeping and snoring on the couch while our outside cat (Hannah) and I quoted from Robin Hood, “To the trees!”
Hannah is, without a doubt, one of the sweetest cats in the world. She’s syrup-y sweet and I’m not convinced a sweeter-natured being has ever lived. She’s never happier than when we’re outside – in her element – with her. We kid ourselves, thinking that we’re entertaining her, but I’m pretty sure it’s the other way around.
We did a lot of traipsing around the yard yesterday, taking pictures of just about everything along the way.
“The front door to springtime is a photographer’s best friend.” – Terri Guillemets
After an especially long, cold winter Hannah and I both decided that the dandelions seemed lovelier than ever.
“Every spring is the only spring – a perpetual astonishment.” – Ellis Peters
There were countless bees buzzing around our pear and apple trees, and as long as I lurked around taking pictures, it’s a wonder they didn’t use me for target practice.
I tried to capture them in their crazy little frenzy but they just don’t show up that well in the pictures.
“The day the Lord created hope was probably the same day he created Spring.” – Bern Williams
One thing that does show up is just how Heavenly this Spring day was and Hannah and I are looking forward to a lot more…. with or without the bees.
One final thought… a pet makes absolutely everything in the world better.
