<description>“If It Happened to My Family”
Why my vote is for JIM RUNDLES for Sheriff of Livingston County, Ky.

• As I watch the news in the comfort of my home, I shudder at the thought of the horrid violent attacks taking place on our families. One channel reports young girls being kidnapped, sold, and forced into prostitution. A report in Kentucky of a husband shooting his wife because he didn’t like the way she cooked his eggs. This crime continued until the gunman shot five other people dead before he turned the gun on himself. Another channel has a mother on a talk show for help for her fourteen year old daughter addicted to illegal drugs.
What if this was my daughter? One doesn’t know exactly how they would react to such a horrible
Situation. But, I do know my thoughts would be, did I fail to let her know how much I love her and how much she is worth? I’m sure at some point I would question the legal system as to why the criminal who kidnapped her or sold her the drugs was on the streets to begin with. At some time and point I would have to open my eyes and decide if I had been proactive enough as a member of my community to voice my opinion and make my vote count in the election of our law officers, our protectors.
I can say that I wouldn’t vote for someone because I have known them all my life or because they had lived here since they were in diapers, or because they are just my good friend. Ignore the candidate’s names and parties, look and listen to their qualifications and experience. Am I putting the other candidates down by saying this, No of course not. There are good people running for this office. But the above reasons are not good enough reasons to put an individual in charge of keeping our people safe.
Why did I decide to vote for Jim Rundles for sheriff? Because he is skilled in law enforcement and has the education to train and implement programs to protect my family. In making this statement I am saying that Mr. Rundles is intelligent and willing to utilize resources available to him due to his experience and contacts with other law enforcement. Drug and family programs aren’t a cure all, but if parents and the community get involved we can warn our youth of the dangers. He has worked undercover, drug enforcement, and patrol. He will not turn a deaf ear. People who know Mr. Rundles are not going to speak poorly of him. I came to know Jim Rundles when my children grew up with his children and went to school with them in Livingston County. His morals are self-evident. He will be a consistent sheriff and will not discriminate against anyone. Mr. Rundles has training to handle crisis and trauma.

His compassion and kindness and his commitment to a clean moral life enabled Mr. Rundles to be the chaplain of the police force. We need an individual as our sheriff who has this compassion, but at the same time will uphold the law and not be bought.
I have never Jim Rundles to deal with a situation without being honest, sincere and competent to utilize his knowledge and skills. He has the insight to lead our deputies for the good of their safety and ours. We need change. He will be there not just for me, but for you for all areas of the county.
None of the candidates have a magic pill to cure the crime in our county, but with the right person in office, we can continually chip it away. This I am willing to promise you, Mr. Rundles will accept this job with true concern and commitment to you.
I don’t ask that you just take my word that Jim Rundles is the best candidate for sheriff of Livingston County. Take the initiative be concerned for our safety, the safety of our children. Talk with Mr. Rundles and let him answer your questions and concerns. I feel sure you then will give him your vote. Protect the people in our county. Vote Jim Rundles for sheriff in the upcoming election. Check the write in box and write RUNDLES beside it.

Sincerely,
Donna Whited
