My youngest daughter Stephany, her husband (Rusty) and I were in the Madisonville/Earlington area yesterday, helping a family member move. I drove them through my own “old stomping grounds” and showed them my childhood home in Madisonville, my grandparent’s old home, etc. We also rode through Earlington and I showed off Earlington Park and Loch Mary to them.
They were impressed. Rusty said Loch Mary’s lily pads were easily the biggest he’d ever seen. I certainly have to agree with that.
I was just as impressed as the kids were. Frankly, the park looks a lot different now.
Someone’s been busy!
The benches, the picnic tables, the playground equipment – everything looked SO NICE and beautiful. I’m thrilled they’ve improved the park and have given Earlington’s residents a park they can be very, very, very proud of. Naturally, we broke out our cameras and had at it. I would have taken more pictures of the great playground equipment but kids were playing and…
- I didn’t want to disturb the great time they were having.
- I didn’t want to look like a creepy stalker.
Again, the highest of praise to whomever was in charge of this park’s overhaul. Everything looks out of this world and I’m thrilled that Earlington has such a beautiful park for kids and adults to enjoy.
Photographers and Nature Lovers
Getting off the beaten path (and I certainly consider little Earlington to fit that description) isn’t just a lot of fun, you’ll find yourself with fresh opportunities for photographs…. and memories. Whether it’s geese so brave and friendly you can practically walk right up to them, or lily pads as big as flying saucers (not quite), you never know what you’ll see.
