Docker’s Bayside Grille (Green Turtle Bay Resort & Marina) is one of my favorite places to have breakfast OR lunch in all of Kentucky.
Okay, I’m completely bumfuzzled. You see, I remember typing out a Docker’s Bayside Grille review for the deliciousness you see pictured here. I remember oooohing and ahhhing over the amazing wrap and the potato salad that was so incredible I apologized to it for not ordering it sooner.
Occasionally I embarrass my husband in restaurants.
However, when I looked for the review this morning, to link to it in a particular post…. badabing, the review is gone. What? Did a rival restaurant put a hit out on it?
Not cool.
I’m a busy gal year round. 16+ websites/blogs keep me hopping. Add to that the frenzy of Christmas shopping, prepping, and baking and I barely have time to breath. I’m not bragging, here, I’m just setting the stage. For me to take the time to re-write a review (I know I already wrote no less!), it would have to be for some place extra, extra, extra special. The place would have to have a corner of my heart (and stomach) reserved just for it.
So, here we go.
I write a great deal about Grand Rivers, Kentucky. I’m obsessed with the beauty of the entire little village and equally obsessed with The Fudge Factory and its too-delicious-to-even-talk-about fudge. We’re also crazy about the Grand Rivers Variety shows, the Grand Rivers Jetty (at Lighthouse Landing), and Green Turtle Bay Resort & Marina. It’s Green Turtle Bay that’s to blame for countless calories we consume at Docker’s Bayside Grille each year. Docker’s is located on the Green Turtle Bay Resort, but you don’t have to be a guest of the resort or marina to visit.
Docker’s has the best breakfasts and lunches in the region. The food is consistently amazing and your jaw will hit the floor every single time. In fact, some items (such as their omelets, hamburgers, wraps, salads…) will make your jaw hit the floor with each bite.
It makes it a little tough to finish your meal, what with all that dropping, but it’s okay. I don’t mind. Really.
I am a little reluctant to order potato salad or coleslaw in restaurants simply because there are too many variables. Too many moving parts and too many chances for human error. My great, unrivaled trust in Docker’s, however, prompted me to order potato salad with a wrap on our last trip. I’d never had one of their wraps either, so I was anxious to try it out.
They, of course. blew me away with both the wrap and the potato salad. Look at the potato salad… see the seasonings? It was some of the best potato salad I’ve ever gotten out. Ever. It was out of this world.
The wrap was also excellent. Mind you, it’s hard to go into a restaurant that has probably the best burger in the entire Lakes area, but I’m a wrap addict, so I forced myself. Besides, I knew Docker’s would hit it out of the park. They do every time, after all. I was right. The wrap was sensational and I devoured it like a bear devours salmon.
I looked up from my wonderful wrap and potato salad just long enough to see my husband going all bear and salmon with his Grilled Chicken Salad.
Now for the bad news… the sad, difficult to report, it-hurts-me-more-than-it-hurts-you news. Docker’s will close for the season on December 2 – but they’ll be back dishing out deliciousness for breakfast and lunch next spring. You can bet I’ll let you know the date. I’ll be counting the days.
In fact, consider the countdown officially on!
