Rough River Dam State Resort Park‘s lodge has a wonderful restaurant called Grayson’s Landing. Their breakfasts, alone, are worth staying overnight at the lodge (or in their cottages).Ã? However, you don’t have to be a guest of the lodge or cottages to enjoy any of the great meals served at Grayson’s Landing.
All you have to do is show up!
I don’t care where you live, getting up early and driving to Grayson’s Landing for breakfast is MORE than worth it. The wooded, scenic lake view from the windows, the best coffee in the state, and food that is so good it should come with a warning label.Ã? The aroma, alone, brings you to your knees when you walkÃ? into the restaurant in the morning.
Rough River Dam State Resort Park is celebrating their lodge’s 50th anniversary this weekend, so what better time to show up hungry?! Whether it’s for breakfast, lunch, or dinner – you’ll find the food to be better than excellent and the coffee???Ã? Let’s just say you won’t turn down a single refill.Ã? Kentucky State Parks have better coffee than Starbucks or any restaurant you can name. Take it from this coffee addict, I know my coffee like Cookie Monster knows cookies.Ã? It has a similar effect now that I think about it.
To celebrate the anniversary, Rough River is offering a special lodge room rate of $62 a night (Sunday Sept. 23, 2012Ã? through Thursday Sept. 27, 2012).Ã? Think about it, you can stay in a beautiful lodge room, then walk to Grayson’s Landing and have a breakfast you’ll be talking about for months.
This is our third consecutive Thanksgiving at your restaurant. The first year the food was delicious! The second year it was so so. This year the food was absolutely horrid.Ã? A cheesburger at McDonalds would have been better! What has happened? Needless to say next year I will be once again slaving in the kitchen as we won’t be eating with you again. Thank You, Karen Turner 6775 McPherson RD Philpot Ky 42366 1-270-729-0132. Karen,
I’m SO sorry that you had a bad experience at Rough River Dam’s restaurant. It’s one of my favorite places in Kentucky, so I genuinely hate to hear that someone wasn’t pleased.Ã? I had no idea they were even open on Thanksgiving – I’d almost be willing to bet it wasn’t the regular staff and, what’s more, the people filling in probably had MUCH rather have been home with their family.
I think it’s a shame, in a way, that people eat out on holidays instead of fixing it and eating at home. Eating out just means that other people have to work on holidays and sacrifice precious time and holiday memories with their family.Ã? Ã? You have the right idea with staying home next Thanksgiving – I’ve never eatedn out on a holiday and I never will. I’d rather cook for my loved ones and allow others to spend time with their’s.
I hope you’ll give Rough River Dam another shot on a non-holiday.Ã? I’m not affiliated with them in any way whatsoever – so it doesn’t benefit me to say this – but their buffets are amongst the best in the state and their breakfasts are HEAVENLY.Ã? I just hope you give them another shot – you caught them on a bad day, apparently.
