Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park

The Mary Ray Oaken Lodge
The Mary Ray Oaken Lodge
One of Kentucky’s State Parks you’ll want to visit with your family is Dale Hollow State Resort Park.  Dale Hollow State Resort Park is a very memorable experience. The scenery is gorgeous and quite unlike a lot of other Kentucky State Parks. Add in the great number of things to do and you have a great family vacation just waiting to happen.

Island View Restaurant

Enjoy a number of traditional Kentucky dishes from the menu. You’ll be delighted with favorites such as the Hot Brown, Fried Catfish or Country Ham. To add to the atmosphere, the restaurant has three walls of glass that allows you to sit back and take in the breathtaking view of Dale Hollow Lake and its beautiful islands. Island View Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Things to Do at Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park

Boating: Visit http://www.dhstateparkmarina.com for more information on Dale Hollow State Park Marina.

The impressive marina was completed in 2008. The state of the art facilities include a Ship’s Store and Fuel Dock. Recreational boats as well as fishing boats are welcome and may be rented by the day. Open year-round. Fee Charged.

Questions about the marina? Call (270) 433-6600

Boat Ramp – A gradually sloping concrete launching ramp is available. There are two lots for parking trailers.

Fishing: If fishing is a favorite sport – or you’re just beginning to enjoy the popular pastime, Dale Hollow Lake is just for you. Crappie, bream, muskie, walleye, trout, catfish, and five species of bass (largemouth, smallmouth, white, Kentucky, and rock) have made Dale Hollow Lake a top fishing spot in the country.Ã?  Dale Hollow Lake held the world record smallmouth bass and the state record muskie.

Dale Hollow Lake is an excellent place to practice spear fishing. Underwater spearing of rough fish with hand-held or mechanically propelled spear is permitted year-round in Dale Hollow Lake. All participants in this sport must be submerged while spearfishing. Only rough fish may be taken and the appropriate fishing license is required. The daily creel limit is 15 fish.

Golfing: The challenging Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park Golf Course, which plays along hilly terrain, won’t disappoint the avid golfer.  A fully equipped pro shop is open year-round with rental riding carts, pull carts, and clubs available.

Swimming: Outdoor Lodge pool features a sloped entrance and a wheelchair lift that is ADA accessible.  The pool is available for lodge guests only.  However, park visitors can enjoy the well-tended community pool inside the campground. Camping guests swim free.

Trails:

Over 15 miles of trails are designated as multi-purpose trails, open for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking unless otherwise posted. No motorized uses are allowed. The trails generally follow old logging roads along narrow ridge tops through the park. Most of the trails end at the tips of these ridges which form peninsulas into Dale Hollow Lake, requiring a return trip on the same trail. View Trail Information.
Mountain Biking:
Dale Hollow Lake Resort’s 3,400 acres give plenty of room for approved mountain bike trails. Bring your own bikes.

Miniature Golf:
Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park features a nautical-themed 18-hole mini golf course with flowing water throughout and bridges that allow you to cross over the stream as you flaunt your skills.  Hours are 8:30 am – 5 pm Sunday through Thursday and 8:30 am – 8 pm Friday & Saturday. Price is $4/adult, $3/child (5-11), and 4 & under FREE.

Cave Tours:

Enjoy the wonders of Cindy Cave during one of our guided tours or on your own. Cindy cave offers an experience you won’t soon forget with formations, crickets, bats, crayfish, and salamanders for viewing. If going on your own, you must check in with the front desk before entering to receive a free permit. Upon exiting the cave, please return permit to the front desk. Equipment rental fee $3.00 per person.
