John James Audubon State Park may not be one of Kentucky’s largest or most well-known State Parks but it’s certainly one of the most beautiful.
If you’re a bird and nature lover, it’ll quickly become one of your favorite places on earth.
While these pictures will give you an idea of just how special and beautiful the park is, they can’t possibly do it the justice it deserves. To see, for yourself, you’ll simply have to pay it a visit at your earliest convenience.
Take it from this bird and nature lover, you’ll never want to leave.
Be sure you walk slowly around the Welcome Center to fully appreciate the stonework and workmanship.
It’s a rare park with a Welcome Center that’s a work of art!
If you love trails, be sure you check out the AMAZING trails behind the Museum and Nature Center. Whatever you do, though, pay close attention to the name of the trail you’re on and how you got there. My husband never had trouble navigating through the trails but, if we’re being honest, I got so busy admiring the HUGE trees, birds, squirrels, and beautiful scenery that I had no idea what trail I was on at any given time.
One thing I did know was that I was in a Bird Lover’s Paradise. John James Audubon Park is actually located on a MAJOR bird migratory route, so bird lovers can enjoy an ever-changing varietyy of feathered park residents.
John James Audubon State Park is located at 3100 U.S. Highway 41 North (Henderson, Ky).
