General Burnside State Park’s Golf Course
General Burnside Island State Park was named for the Civil War General Ambrose Burnside. Burnside (notorious for his sideburn-whiskers!) led patrols along the Cumberland River keeping vigilant lookout for Confederate soldiers.
The Park offers camping, fishing, picnicking (with grills, two picnic shelters – one with a restroom – picnic tables, and a playground), and has a six lane launching boat ramp for easy access for a fun-filled day on the beautiful lake.
