Panther Creek Park (Owensboro) may not be as large as our wonderful Kentucky State Parks, but it is a relaxing and beautiful place to get away from it all. The walking trails are really something else and, if you take the longest trail, you’ll get all you bargained for.
Trust me!
The pictures here were taken, obviously, in autumn – which is (in my opinion) when Panther Creek Park is at its finest.
The pictures here are from the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers‘ Purple/White Spring Game Friday night at Steel Stadium in Owensboro.
Steele Stadium, Owensboro
As you can see, it was a gorgeous night for football. If you live close to a college, I hope you’ll take in as many baseball, football, and basketball games as possible. Not only is it great to support the university and their young athletes… you’ll have a lot of fun in the process. Fact is, you probably won’t want to miss a single game all season.
If you live near Owensboro, you can keep up with KWC programs with the official website of the KWC Panthers.
Granted, I’m biased because I live here, but I think Owensboro is an especially beautiful town. Our downtown, in particular, really gives all of us a “hometown proud” kind of feeling.
The beautiful “Celebration” statue is just one of the beautiful statues around our city – and it’s one of my favorites. She dances, eternally, in front of the Riverpark Center (101 Daviess St) and makes me smile ear-to-ear every time I see her.
Pictures from Last Year’s Air Show
I’m so excited about the Owensboro 2015 Air Show that I’m finding it difficult to sit still today. Not only is it difficult to concentrate on anything but the upcoming weekend, the planes flying overhead (yesterday and today) make me just want to stay outside and watch the sky!
Tonight is actually one of my favorite parts of the entire Air Show weekend – the chance to get a close up look at a lot of the aircraft and even meet some of the pilots. The event takes place a the Owensboro Regional Airport from 4:00 to approximately 8:30 pm. Admission is $2.00 per person/Kids 10 and under free.
As the sun sets, a few performers will take to the sky to entertain the crowds. Fireworks will follow. Food and drink vendors will be on site.
Now, why would you want to be anywhere else?!?!
For all the information you’ll need for the upcoming events, check out the Owensboro Air Show website. You’ll also find some pretty amazing videos to watch too.
Whatever you do, make plans to spend a lot of time in Owensboro this weekend. For places to eat, check out our Owensboro Restaurant Reviews.
The pandemic has crushed many activities, events, and normalcy – not just in Kentucky, but all around the world. As we creep back toward normal, I want desperately to highlight any and all events going on around Kentucky. Please E-mail me any information you’d like shared about your Kentucky event! ~ Joi (“Joy”)
