The Rotating Pictures at the top of Genuine Kentucky

The picture at the top of Genuine Kentucky (on laptops, desktops, and iPads) changes from page to page and post to post.

These are the images used for the first series, Kentucky Summertime 2015:

1. The photo for this banner was taken at the beautiful 1850’s Homeplace in the Land Between the Lakes. I spent the better part of my afternoon there photographing butterflies who were enjoying the flower garden as much as I was.  This particular butterfly spent about 10 minutes on the zinnias, alone! I could (and often do) spend hours at The Homeplace just wandering around looking for the next photo opportunity to present itself.

2. The beautiful Elk & Bison Prairie (also in the Land Between the Lake) is another place I often spend hours joyfully waiting for the next picture to present itself.

 

3. This picture (which looks more like it came from a Botanical garden than a golf course!) was taken at the impeccable Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park Golf Course. The landscaping is breathtaking at this wonderful golf course and the flowers and plants are always picture-worthy.

 

4. This one is one of my favorite pictures… so of course it had to be included! These beautiful animals, literally, posed for me when my husband and I parked along the side of the road. The sky, the trees reflecting in the water, the vivid green grass – everything was beautiful, but nothing more so than the cattle.
