Hi, Melanie – They do not have a “gluten-free” menu but I, personally, have not had an issue when I stick to the basics: beans, grilled fish, grilled shrimp, coleslaw, and baked potatoes (not loaded, however, because the bacon bits aren’t freshly made and seem to be unsafe for those who have to eat gluten-free). If anyone at your table orders hush puppies, be sure the crumbs don’t fall into the beans or onto your food. This has happened with us before and I had to wait for the refill to enjoy their delicious beans. Also, most blackened fish isn’t safe – the blackened seasoning often contains barley.
When dealing with non-chain restaurants it is really, really hard to find out what is and what isn’t gluten-free. Most simply don’t have the information available to them. Have you ever eaten at Catfish Kitchen? It isn’t on the menu, but they actually have gluten-free fried catfish! I order it all the time – they use rice flour and it’s outstanding.
